Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I am, Garvin Maurice, Vice President to President Kent Adams in the Central Bank Sports and Cultural club. Bestowed upon me is the honour of being the master of ceremonies for most of this afternoon proceedings. It is therefore with great pleasure that I, on behalf of your joint hosts, the management of the Central Bank & the Executive of the Sports and Cultural Club bid you welcome - welcome to an afternoon on which we will be addressed by Dr. Euric Bobb, Governor of the Central Bank. After the Governor's address we will move on to showcase some of the talent in the Bank through a short cultural production. Post production, we will briefly reflect on some of the highlights of our just concluded sporting calendar.
I think it will be prudent for me to now declare my intentions as the master of ceremonies - I intend to be as brief as possible, commenting only on areas where knowledge of a particular item on this afternoon's agenda is not generally known.
However, before we get into the agenda allow me a few moments to put this afternoon into perspective. As was mentioned earlier, this function is jointly hosted the Central Bank and the Executive of the Sports and Cultural Club. This occurrence is partially due to the fact that August 1986 saw a dream come true - a dream fostered in the formation stages of the Club back in 1983, under President Hamlin Alexis - a dream of an autonomous club - this dream became a reality in August 1986.
The arrival of that reality brought an infusion of renewed vigour, renewed dynamism, revival of plans, revival of ideas- thus the last quarter of 1986 saw the Sports Club effecting meaningful dialogue with the Bank's management.
Because of those discussions the Sports and Cultural Club was recognised as the sole authority
